Chris Labatch - Gold Squad Coach
Coach Chris Labatch is the Head Football Coach of Wilson Area High School. He graduated from Wilson in 2007. Labatch attended East Stroudsburg University where in 2011 he graduated with a Secondary Education in Mathematics degree. For the past 10 years he has been a Math teacher at Phillipsburg High School in Phillipsburg, NJ. He has been a high school football coach since 2009, during that time he served as a position coach and defensive coordinator. In 2016, Labatch was honored to return to his high school Alma Mater, Wilson Area High School, as Head Football Coach. During Coach Labatch's senior year of high school, 2007, he was selected to the McDonald’s Game as a player. Coach Labatch has coached as an assistant in the McDonald’s game in 2016 and 2019. This is his first stint as Gold Squad Head Coach!
George Clay - Red Squad Coach
Coach Clay is a 1989 graduate of William Allen High School in Allentown, Pa. As a Canary, Coach Clay was a three-sport athlete competing in football, basketball and track and field. As football player, he was a three-year letter winner and team captain. He also represented the Canaries in the McDonald’s All-Star game. As a member of the track team he was a four letter winner, district champion and state qualifier on the 4x100 relay team.
After graduation from William Allen, Coach Clay enlisted in the military as a part of the United States Army. He was in the military for two years, stationed at Schofield barracks in Hawaii. He was assigned to the 25th Infantry light fighting division as a saw gunner. Unfortunately, due to injury he was honorably discharged from the military.
After leaving the Military, Coach Clay returned to Allentown where he started coaching football. Coach Clay has been coaching the last 28 seasons at different schools such as Central Catholic, Salisbury and William Allen where he was the head coach for the past nine years. He has had many duties and responsibilities while coaching, such as wide Receivers, Running backs, and being a special teams and Offensive coordinator.
Coach Clay has been married to his wife Sheila for 23 years, they reside in Salisbury Township, Pa. They have 2 children, Khrysten and Trent and 2 wonderful grandchildren Chloe and Connor.
